Applicants who were awarded the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship should follow these essential steps in order to complete the visa application process:
1. First and most importantly, applicants are required to accept (or decline) the scholarship offer in the DreamApply system. We kindly ask all applicants to start the visa process with this step, since host institutions can issue the “Letter of Admission” upon this requirement.
2. Complete and sign the application form, appendix, then scan the form, the copy of your passport and the documents mentioned in Point 4, and send them via email to stipendium.amm@mfa.gov.hu.
- Only scanned documents in pdf. format can be accepted!
- Documents should be scanned separately and named according to their content.
- Please mention your name in the subject of your e-mail.
- Due to the large size of attachments, please make sure to send the documents in seperate emails.
We kindly request making an appointment only after sending all the necessary documents in the above mentioned format via email! Incomplete emails and attachments may not be accepted. Any booked appointments prior sending the whole required documents via email might result in cancelling your appointment.

5. Visa applications of people accompanying students
If family members/friends wish to accompany you on your journey to Hungary and travel with you at the same time, they must apply for a C type (Schengen) visa at BLS: https://amman.mfa.gov.hu/eng/page/c-type-schengen-visa-application
Only students applying for D type visa can visit the Embassy!
6. General information on D type visa and residence permit
You can find useful, general information on your D visa here.
As the visa process may take 3-6 weeks, sometimes even longer, we highly recommend buying your travel tickets AFTER receiving your visa. The Embassy cannot take any responsibility for problems/issues resulted from too early ticket purchase.
The Consular Section is looking forward to receiving you.
