Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Hungary in Amman. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than half a century ago, trust and friendship have been forged between our two countries and peoples. Tens of thousands of our citizens visited each other’s countries. Like Hungary, due to its historic, religious and natural heritage Jordan enjoys a significant touristic appeal. Also like in Hungary, this is combined with hospitality, tolerance and security. Our economic and trade cooperation offer great opportunities in the fields of agriculture, water management, energy, services and investment.
During the past decades hundreds of Jordanian students graduated from Hungarian universities, earning professional and social acclaim in both of our countries. We are proud of the success of these medical doctors, engineers and business people who greatly contribute to the understanding between our peoples as well as the knowledge about each other’s culture. From the 2014-15 academic year Hungary offers state scholarships for new generations of young Jordanians to obtain diplomas in a high-quality education system. Returning to their home country these graduates will cherish and sustain the friendship between our nations.
The further development of our bilateral relations enjoys an outstanding political support from both sides. Hungary on its part commends and supports Jordan’s peaceful internal development and its regional stabilizing role. I hope that the visitors of this website will have a chance to get a glimpse of the dynamic and diverse cooperation between the two countries.
