Further information and Recommendations:
- The visa process may take 3 to 5 weeks, you'll be notified via email once we have a decision on your visa application.
- We highly recommend buying your flight tickets only AFTER receiving your visa. The Embassy cannot take any responsibility for problems/issues resulted from early ticket purchase.
- There is no specific balance you should have in your bank account – it should be able to prove that your long-term stay, accomodation, health insurance, everyday life, etc is financially supported.
- Students can be sponsored only by self support or parents/legal guardians.
- We recommended to provide a travel insurance for 30 days starting from the expected travel date.
- Two years passport validity at least is recommended to avoid any future delays or renewing process.
Information on D-type visa and Residence Permit:
Your D type visa is valid for 30 days in a 3 months period.
It means that you can enter Hungary anytime in this 3 months period and then, starting from your entry date to the country, you have 30 days to collect your residence permit. Students residnce permits are delivered by post to the address of the educational institution.
It is a single-entry visa, with Hungary as entry point to the Schengen zone.
This visa is a national visa issued by Hungary. Please, choose a flight directly from Amman to Budapest, or if you have to transit, make sure that your transit point is outside the Schengen zone (e.g. Istanbul, Dubai, Doha).
Extension of residency is possible only in Hungary!
We kindly ask residence permit holders to apply for the extension of their residence permit in time and, do not travel to Jordan without the new or extended permit. Otherwise, a completely new D-type visa application must be submitted, which might result in delaying your study. https://oif.gov.hu/
The Consular Section is looking forward to receiving you.
